Kinnaur is a place that comprises two segments that is the upper Kinnaur valley, and the other is the lower Kinnaur valley. This beautiful valley of peace and glory is placed at a distance of about 235 kilometers from Shimla. It shares its borders with Tibet. The old Hindustan Tibet Road intersects through Kinnaur valley before finally joining Tibet via Shipki La Pass. The Upper Kinnaur encompasses Sangla, Chitkul, Reckong Peo and Kalpa falls under lower Kinnaur; where the area around Chango and Nako forms upper Kinnaur. You will feel the nature's fragrance of the ravishing Kinnaur valley with its dense forests and serene views, which will be pure bliss to your eyes and souls. This place has always been least explored, but this heaven on earth needs to be explored once in a lifetime. For all those who want to disconnect with the human touch, this place is the least crowded place of Himachal and therefore becomes the most beautiful part of Himachal covered with snow-covered mountains. Almost all around the season, the valley possesses a considerable amount of snowfall.
Your day one start starts with breakfast at the hotel, from here we will set off at around 9:00 A.M. It will be a 9-10 hrs long drive from Simla To Saharan. Enjoy through the delightful villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda, and Rampur. On the route, we will take various breaks and will make you visit the Apple orchards and Hattu peak. Then we will head towards Narkanda that is 3,400 metres and 11,154 feet from where you can have a pictorial representation of the mighty Central Himalayas and will also visit the legendary wooden carved temple of Goddess Kali on the
top. We will also stop by a minute lake on the way to the Hattu Peak. After that, we head towards Sarahan via Rampur, and en route, we will stop for lunch break. In Sarahan, you will have the marvelous views of Shrikhand Mahadev Peak, which is one of the major attractions in Sarahan, also centuries-old Hindu temple of Godess Bhimakali. Sarah serves the gateway to Kinnaur valley, offering an Overnight stay in Hotel in Sarahan.
After breakfast, we will take you to visit the legendary temple of Bhimakali at Sarahan, the famous temple where the human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago. After this, we will continue going to Sangla, which is a 4-5 hrs drive where you will check-in at your hotel or
could also prefer to visit in a fixed luxury tented settlement. After lunch, you will be taken on a walk through Kamru and Sangla villages, which is 1-2 hrs drive, and we will then visit the magnificently carved
old temples and Buddhist monasteries. You can talk to the people of the valley to know the culture of the place. Also, the site you are visiting is the Sangla valley, which is also known after the Baspa Sangla river. Last up for the day is the Overnight stay in a hotel in Sangla.
New Day, new voyage, here we start our day 3 with a short pleasant walk around the Sangla area. Then after breakfast, we will be directing you to Chitkul, which is 20 kms away from the place and is a one hour journey. It is 11,318 feet in height. Chitkul, also known as the last village, is on the Indian side on the Indo–Tibetan border. The community of Chitkul is like a fairy tale, as mesmerizing and peaceful.
You can enjoy a quiet walk around here and enjoy picturesque landscapes which are charming. We will keep time for you to enjoy at the place and for communicating with the local people. Return to Sangla for lunch, and then you will be spending the rest of the day relaxing in the mountain landscape, and you will be spending your second night at the same hotel accommodation at Sangla.
The next day morning starts with a joyful drive to Kalpa village, which will take about 2-3 hrs. The very next famous destination on the way back of the trip will be Recongpeo, which will be Enroute and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. Then comes lunch in a local restaurant where you have a
selection to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food. After lunch you will be taken to Kalpa, which is a 7 kms drive, there you will be checked in the hotel where you can relax for a while as afterward, you will be spending your evening exploring the Kalpa Valley.
The next day you will be hitting the tour to the Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village, which are famous villages drenched with thick pine forests and are renowned for apricots and apples, so try these unusual fresh fruits there.
Also, get the view of the prolific Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain, which is indeed a spectacular sight to watch early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light. Kalpa valley is located at an altitude of 2759 m from the sea level, on the old Hindustan Tibet Road at a horizon of 260 km from Shimla.
Earlier it was the District Headquarter of Kinnaur. It is for 14 KMS. It has all the components of a heritage village. It came into a projection in the wake of the British Raj. So enjoy the stay in the same hotel at Kalpa Valley.
Next up is the end of this beautiful trip. In the morning, we head back towards Shimla from Kalpa. As we Checkout from the hotel and proceed to Shimla and Enjoy the Sightseeing of Narkanda, which is also a very beautiful sight to watch.
